Negotiations between Air Mauritius and three major African airlines respectively Kenya Airways , South African Airways and RwandAir, are undergoing aiming to create the first civil aviation African alliance.

As published by the local website “lemauricien.com”;this was indicated in the Mauritius national carrier’s anual general assembly on July 12th,2018 that took place at Hennessy Park Hotel in Ébène.

Air Mauritius announced through a press statement that it strted preparations for eying new destinations including Bangkok(BKK) in Thailand and Wuhan(WUH) in China.

The airline’s management says that the company’s action plan is to transform Mauritius into a strategic hub between Asia and Africa despite many challenges including the high fuel prices,international competition,exchange rates volatility, among others..

Kenya Airways and South African Airways currently belong respectively to the Sky Team and Star Alliances.
